To qualify for the UK Skilled Worker visa, you must meet the following key requirements
You must have a confirmed job offer from a UK-based company that is licensed to sponsor Skilled Worker visas.
The job must be on the list of eligible occupations published by the UK Home Office. Tech roles like software developers, IT business analysts, and cybersecurity specialists are commonly included.
Your job must pay at least: £38,700 per year or £15.88 per hour, OR

You must prove you can speak, read, write, and understand English to at least B1 level (intermediate). This is usually done via a secure English language test or a degree taught in English.
You must be 18 years or older at the time of application.
You must have enough money to support yourself — usually £1,270 in your bank account (unless your sponsor agrees to cover your costs).
Your employer must issue a valid Certificate of Sponsorship, which contains details about your job and salary.

Most decisions are made within 3 weeks (outside the UK) or 8 weeks (if applying from inside the UK). Priority processing may be available for faster results.
If approved, you’ll get a visa vignette in your passport or a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) on arrival in the UK. You can then start your job on or after the date listed on your CoS.
The cost depends on how long you’ll stay and whether your job is on the Shortage Occupation List.

You may be able to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) — also known as permanent residency — after 5 continuous years in the UK on a Skilled Worker visa.
Your partner and children can also apply for ILR if they’ve lived in the UK for 5 years as your dependents and meet the same absence limits.
After holding ILR for at least 1 year, you may be eligible to apply for British citizenship — provided you meet all other naturalization requirements.
